MADISON (WKOW) -- With a snowstorm likely to hit southern Wisconsin on Thursday, some communities are responding by declaring snow emergencies.
Below is a list of all of the communities that have declared snow emergencies so far.
Beloit
The City of Beloit has declared a snow emergency beginning at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, to 1 p.m. Friday, February 5. Vehicles are prohibited from parking or standing on city streets during a snow emergency, according to Beloit city ordinance. READ MORE
Marshall
The village of Marshall Director of Public Works has declared a snow emergency that will go into effect at noon on Thursday, Feb. 4. The Snow Emergency will run until 6 a.m., Friday, Feb. 5.
When a snow emergency has been declared, no street parking is allowed during the declaration or until it has been canceled.
Pardeeville
The Village of Pardeeville's snow emergency will go into effect on Thursday starting at 9 a.m.
The snow emergency will remain in effect for a period of 24 hours after the accumulative snow has ceased to fall (per Village Ordinance #32-155).
Portage
The city of Portage is declaring a snow emergency starting Feb. 4.
Feb. 4 at 2 p.m. parking will be prohibited on all snow routes.
Feb. 4 at 5 p.m. parking will be prohibited on all other streets except for the Central Business District.
Feb. 5 at 12 a.m. to Feb 5 at 6 a.m. the parking in the Central Business District will be prohibited. The City is planning on cleaning up the downtown on Feb. 5, but that is highly dependent on the duration of the storm event.
Sun Prairie
The city of Sun Prairie will be declaring a Snow Emergency beginning at noon on Thursday, Feb. 4, and continuing until noon on Friday, Feb. 5.
There will be no parking on any City street until noon, on Friday, Feb. 5 or until the Snow Emergency has been canceled.
Vehicles parked on the street in violation of this ordinance can be ticketed ($50 fine) and may be towed.
Vehicles may be parked in municipal parking lots, park parking lots and on Merchant Square in the City during the declared snow emergency.
Lodi
A Snow Emergency Watch is being declared by the City of Lodi to be in effect from 1 a.m. Thursday, February 4 until 7 a.m. Friday, February 5.
From November 15 to April 15, a snow emergency is in effect in the City of Lodi when three or more inches of snow is predicted in 24 hours or less.
This means no vehicles are allowed to be parked on any public street or alley from the hours of 12:00 midnight to 7:00 a.m., or until the snow removal operations have completely cleared the street or alley..
