WATERLOO, Iowa (KWWL) - UnityPoint Clinic will resume normal urgent care operations to two locations being used as respiratory clinics.
The COVID-19 follow-up clinic in place outside Allen Hospital is closed and will adjust to new normal procedures.
Urgent care at United Care Medical Park and North Crossing Urgent Care in Waterloo, transitioned to respiratory clinics during the spring time.
The two clinics will resume treating patients for minor illnesses and injuries.
Patients with symptoms or seeking care should contact primary care provider or clinic in Cedar Falls, Waterloo and Waverly.
Health officials say cases are stabilizing in Black Hawk County, and there are fewer people going to the respiratory clinics.
UnityPoint Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Daniel Glascock, says this does not mean the virus is gone.
"COVID-19 is going to be something that's going to be around for some time. We are grateful that we have the new cases and the admissions to the hospital are trending down over the past few weeks. However, we know the virus is not magically disappearing, this is something we have to adapt to," Dr. Glascock said.
Dr. Glascock says things are going, "Back to normal." This is to focus on long-term COVID-19 care.
