HAYWARD — BART says its Hayward station has reopened after firefighters and system staff responded to a medical emergency Sunday, authorities said.
Around 8:40 p.m., firefighters responded to reports of the emergency delaying trains in the Richmond and Beryessa directions, and officials quickly followed by closing the station soon after 8:50 p.m. Mutual-aid bus service was set up using AC Transit’s Nos. 10 and 99 buses.
By 9:05 p.m., BART spokeswoman Cheryl Salter said trains were single-tracking through the station. Service was restored by 10:20 p.m., with the station reopening moments later.
