Ramsey County is offering up to $5,500 in emergency rent, mortgage and utility assistance for county residents who have lost income due to COVID-19.
Emergency assistance is intended to help pay for past due rent or mortgage payments, a damage deposit, or to prevent utilities such as water, electricity and heat from being disconnected.
The county is distributing $15 million in federal funds through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act. The funds are being distributed through the Ramsey County Investment and Support Efforts program, and eligibility requirements are looser than for other public assistance programs.
Adults with children and those who are pregnant can receive up to $5,500 in rent or mortgage assistance. Single adults can receive up to $3,000 in rent or mortgage assistance.
Families and single adults can receive up to $3,000 in utility assistance.
To apply for funds, visit ramseycounty.us/EmergencyAssistance for an application or call the Emergency Assistance hotline at 651-266-4884.
More information about the county’s COVID-19 response is available online at ramseycounty.us/Rise.
