BUCYRUS – People who prefer OhioHealth have another option for care in Crawford County as OhioHealth opens a new Urgent Care Center on Monday, March 22 at 1820 East Mansfield Street in Bucyrus.
OhioHealth Urgent Care – Bucyrus will be open seven days a week, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., to complement OhioHealth primary care physicians in the market as well as offer a more affordable alternative to an emergency department when injuries or illnesses are non-life threatening and do not require emergency care. Evening and weekend hours offer convenience for when most physician offices are closed.
“Crawford County doesn’t have access to urgent care services, so patients who needed that service and preferred OhioHealth quality had to drive to Marion or Ontario before now,” said Vinson Yates, president, OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital and OhioHealth Shelby Hospital. “Urgent care is an important part of the healthcare continuum, and we’re pleased to help fill this gap in the Crawford community. Not only will patients appreciate this option, but employers appreciate an urgent care option as it helps keep down the cost of care for employee health insurance plans.”
Illnesses and injuries typically treated at urgent cares are upper respiratory infections, sprains and strains, minor wounds and cuts and scrapes, urinary tract infections, possible fractures, conjunctivitis, rashes, swollen glands, sinusitis, ear and eye infections, headaches, sore throats, and minor abdominal pain. The OhioHealth Urgent Care – Bucyrus will treat adults and children.
OhioHealth has invested about $500,000 to renovate the facility. The upgrade includes exterior remodeling, a remodeled imaging room, and a new X-ray equipment. This location also offers additional convenience with the provider practice of Dr. Jay Guth, OhioHealth Physician Group orthopedic surgeon, as well as lab services.
This new urgent care option in Crawford County will complement other OhioHealth services, such as primary care providers in Bucyrus with Drs. Chris Johnson, Dr. John Oehler, Paula Severns, CNP, and Jennifer Link, CNP, and an anti-coagulation clinic and lab service. OhioHealth recently opened its first provider practice in Galion that offers primary care and heart and vascular care.
OhioHealth presents gift to the community in honor of the Bucyrus Bicentennial
Additionally, “OhioHealth welcomes the opportunity to join other businesses in the community to help support this year’s Bucyrus Bicentennial celebration. We are proud and honored to demonstrate our commitment to the community with a $10,000 donation for health and wellness as part of this year’s celebration,” said Curt Gingrich, MD, president, OhioHealth Marion General Hospital. “This is a great opportunity to live out our mission to improve the health of those we serve as the funds will benefit the city’s great park system.”
The new Crawford County facility expands OhioHealth’s Urgent Care offering to 14 throughout Ohio.
