The pilot and passenger of a 1965 Piper Twin Comanche are OK after the pilot made an emergency landing in a Clinton Township cornfield Monday afternoon, March 22.

La Porte County officers responded to the site at the northeast corner of U.S. 421 and CR-1100S at 12:45 p.m. and found the plane about 300 yards east of U.S. 421. The pilot and passenger were not injured. The pilot told the deputies that the aircraft‘s engines had failed.

The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board will continue the investigation.
