Cartersville Urgent Care’s second location opened its doors to the public Tuesday.

As Cartersville Medical Center CEO Chris Mosley emphasized, the additional site grants Bartow residents greater access to urgent health care services.

“We continue to look for opportunities to expand our campus and network to where our community members live and work,” he said. “The success of our first urgent care center on Main Street made us optimistic that an additional location would be well supported by the citizens of Bartow County.”

“While our Main Street location provides convenient access to most in and around Cartersville, we acknowledge that many community members in some of our larger neighborhoods around town and in the Euharlee and Taylorsville areas are becoming accustomed to conducting business and shopping on the west side of town. Additionally, given the activity that takes place at Dellinger Park and the schools in the area, we felt that having a location in west Cartersville would provide a convenient, efficient access point for those that rely on our team’s expertise for their urgent medical needs.”

Positioned between Old Mill Road and West Avenue, the clinic is located at 11 Charley Harper Drive. This Cartersville Urgent Care, which is a collaboration between CMC and SmartCare Medical Group, will feature urgent care and occupational health services.

The west Cartersville location is open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“We constantly strive to adapt to the rapidly changing needs of our community,” said Zobair Nagamia, MD, chief of operations for the SmartCare Medical Group. “When COVID-19 showed up at our doorsteps, we quickly mobilized to offer in-house and drive-thru COVID-19 — PCR testing, now the gold standard — testing with quick turnaround times for results. We now also offer Rapid COVID-19 antigen testing at both locations and soon we will have Rapid COVID-19 PCR testing.

“For occupational health, we offer a full line of services from drug testing to industry-specific physicals, pre-placement assessments, DOT to workers' compensation. We have also mobilized our team to support employers with on-site COVID-19 testing and tailored back-to-work plans and mitigation strategies to get employees back to work.”

Situated at 10 Main St. Market Place, Cartersville Urgent Care's first clinic opened in February 2019.

“Our patients are our top priority, and with our partnership with Cartersville Medical Center we are able to offer our patients a complete continuum of care,” Nagamia said. “Whether it's at our clinics, the hospital or our specialists, our patients have access to whatever their care may dictate.

“We strive to bring our patients top quality customer service with convenient and affordable care — open seven days a week, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-8 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m.-6 p.m., ease of walk-in or the option to schedule easily on-line,” she said, referring to the Main Street facility’s hours of operation. “We offer Rapid COVID-19 testing at both sites with 15-minute results and COVID-19 drive-thru testing is now open in the Kroger parking lot, adjacent to our Main Street clinic.”
