OhioHealth is excited to be bringing primary care and urgent care services to Franklinton, utilizing approximately 12,000 square feet of space in Phase II of the Gravity Project. Those who live and work in the Franklinton community will have easy access to care with convenient parking and services provided on the first floor.
“OhioHealth is excited to be part of the Franklinton community, an area that’s long been in need of easily accessible, fundamental healthcare services,” said Brett Kim, OhioHealth’s chief operating officer, clinical enterprise, physician alignment. “Having access to both primary care and urgent care is vital for everyone, which is why we’ve been working on plans to bring these services to Franklinton for a number of years. We are happy to be working with Kaufman Development to make it happen.”
“OhioHealth’s facility at Gravity will make world-class healthcare easily accessible to residents and visitors in the neighborhood of Franklinton,” said Gravity Founder Brett Kaufman. “We’re thrilled to welcome them as an anchor in our community.”
Care will be available to anyone – not just those who live and work in the Gravity development. These new services provide less costly options for care, as opposed to emergency care which is significantly more expensive.
“The emergency department use rate in Franklinton is significantly higher than the central Ohio average,” said Kim. “Primary care access will allow community members to establish a medical home for annual visits, preventive and illness care, treatment of chronic conditions and hopefully reduce the need to seek emergency care, unless it’s a severe or life-threatening emergency. And the urgent care will be a great resource for conditions that aren’t life threatening, but need to be addressed promptly.”
The new urgent care will be located between OhioHealth’s two busiest urgent cares in Grandview and Grove City. The $2.8 million offices are expected to open in early 2023. Phase II of the Gravity Project is located at Broad and McDowell streets.
