FALMOUTH, MA — The urgent care center in Falmouth has reopened, Cape Cod Healthcare officials announced Monday.
The facility at 273 Teaticket Highway was temporarily closed during the initial surge of coronavirus cases so staff and other resources could be allocated to Falmouth Hospital and other urgent care centers throughout the Cape Cod Healthcare network.
The center will resume its regular hours of 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekends. As with all Cape Cod Healthcare urgent Care centers, protocols are in place to protect patients and staff during a visit, including triage at the entrance upon arrival with a temperature check and distribution of masks for all patients who do not bring their own. Patients experiencing symptoms related to COVID-19 will continue their visit with a provider from their car via telemedicine.
Health officials strongly encourage patients to seek medical care for any urgent healthcare
needs, as nurses and doctors have seen patients in need of serious medical attention who have waited too long to visit the hospital. Officials said the healthcare facilities, urgent care centers and hospitals are safe, and staff is prepared to address everyone's needs.
