Effective Monday, Nov. 2, at 6 p.m. CST, the conditions of Tropical Storm/Hurricane Zeta allowed for the Louisiana Public Service Commission (LPSC), to lift restrictions on telephonic solicitations into the state, according to a notice on the LPSC website. These calls, including debt collection, may resume in accordance with the general provisions of the LPSC Do Not Call Program General Order.
Should the LPSC subsequently be required to report to the Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness in response to any state of emergency situation, a revised notice will be posted at that time.
ACA encourages members to use their judgment and discretion when contacting consumers who may be impacted by the state of emergency and the storms and consult with their counsel for guidance if needed.
