Car pulls into North Miami urgent care for help after 2 people shot - WPLG Local 10

NORTH MIAMI, Fla. – A witness told Local 10 that two men were saying “We’ve been shot. We’ve been shot" as they ran into a North Miami urgent care center.

Sky 10 was over the scene around 3:20 p.m. Friday as police pored over a dark colored Mercedes-Benz in a parking lot in front of that urgent care.

According to Bay Harbor Islands Police Department, it started around 2:30 p.m. when there were reports of shots fired not far from the Town Hall complex. That’s when, police said, three or more people, in at least two different luxury cars, had a verbal altercation.

The argument started in the parking lot in front of an apartment building, according to investigators. As the dispute escalated, one person pulled out a gun and shot two people, police said.

Prior to BHI police arriving at the scene, the shooter fled and is still at large. However, police wanted to assure Bay Harbor Island residents that they are not in any danger.

The shooting incident reportedly started on Bay Terrace in Bay Harbor Island with two victims ending up in North Miami, about 2 miles from that location.

Bay Harbor Islands spokesperson Brian Andrews told Local 10 that the injured were not residents of Bay Harbor Island.

The car, its driver and a passenger then ended up in a parking lot at Biscayne Boulevard and 125th Street in front of the MD Now urgent care.

The witness said that “they were wounded real bad.”

Crime scene technicians from North Miami police examined the car, placing one evidence marker inside the vehicle’s trunk.

The two people were transported to Aventura Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.
