BARNEGAT, NJ – The expansion of Barnegat 67 continues in 2021 with the opening of two new urgent care facilities. Family members of both the human and pet variety will soon have additional options for medical care.
“We are looking forward to the opening a 4,000 square foot veterinarian’s office, as well as a 12,000 square foot medical facility that will be run by RWJ/Barnabas as an urgent care,” announced Barnegat Mayor Al Bille.
Jersey Shore Veterinary is just working on the finishing touches at their new location. The practice team is headed by Dr. Laura Cromal and Dr. Craig Fenwick and offers opportunities for complete veterinary services.
According to Rose Burke, Jersey Shore Veterinary’s practice manager, the facility will be open 24/7 and provide both general vet services and emergency care. The group enters the area as the first after-hours facility in Southern Ocean County for pet emergencies.
Like the new veterinary services, the RWJ/Barnabas urgent care facility, plans to open in the more recent or second phase of the Barnegat 67 complex.
Urgent care offices generally allow walk-in visits and have different hours than traditional doctor’s offices. Patients enjoy the benefits of non-life-threatening emergency care without the worry of making an appointment with their regular provider.
“As far as we know, RWJ/Barnabas hopes to open up during the summer months,” Bille shared. “This is a great opportunity for our residents as it saves them from traveling to Manahawkin or Forked River when they seek immediate non-emergent care.”
Barnegat 67 is a mixed-use project that includes a number of restaurants, retail stores, and luxury apartments. Construction of a new Taco Bell is underway and due to open soon.
“We have approximately 55 percent occupancy in the newer building as far as apartment rentals,” said Doreen Continanza, Leasing Director of the residential portion of Barnegat 67.
Continanza said that the second round of leases has started in what was the first building to offer occupancies. Barnegat 67 offers incentives for those interested in moving into the over 55 rental community
