Letter | Use urgent care facilities for vaccinations - Santa Cruz Sentinel

pentingnus.blogspot.com

Every day we see the death toll rise due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Santa Cruz County. Most of these deaths are occurring in individuals of advanced age. Also, we read that less than half of the vaccines have been distributed and we have no idea how much of the distributed vaccine has gone into someone’s arm.
Why are not more means being used to distribute and inject available vaccines? At least some of the urgent care facilities in the county could be used to schedule appointments. They have data on the birthdate of clients and past patients that could be used to verify age of those requesting vaccine. If each of these facilities could administer just 50 to 100 vaccines per day, we would soon eliminate the problem with our most vulnerable.

The Sentinel welcomes your letters to the editor. Letters should be short, no more than 150 words. We do not accept anonymous letters. Letter-writers should include their full name as well as a street address and telephone number. We don’t publish those details in the newspaper, but need the information for verification purposes. Occasionally, we reject letters simply because we’ve had so many on the same subject. Submit your letters online at https://ift.tt/323VLsP.
