Syracuse, N.Y. — WellNow Urgent Care’s three Syracuse area locations are temporarily serving as dedicated Covid-19 PCR testing centers for asymptomatic patients.
The testing centers are open every day from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Appointments are strongly encouraged and can be scheduled online, but walk-ins will also be accepted.
The three locations are: 1600 Erie Boulevard East, Syracuse; 3840 Route 31, Clay; and 3504 W. Genesee St., Fairmount.
Asymptomatic patients include individuals who may have been exposed to Covid-19 but are not exhibiting common symptoms such as fever, cough, shortness of breath, or loss of taste or smell. Patients without symptoms who require PCR results for work, school or other purposes are also considered asymptomatic.
A PCR (polymerase chain reaction) is considered the most accurate and reliable test to detect Covid-19. WellNow says patients can get results the same day or the day after they are tested.
