Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare (TMH) is proud to announce the opening of the regional healthcare leader’s second Tallahassee Memorial Urgent Care Center on Wednesday, August 25, providing the community in Southeast Tallahassee with increased access to exceptional medical care in their own backyard.
Located at 3900 Esplanade Way in Southwood, the new Urgent Care Center plays a strategic role in the expansion of TMH’s urgent care services. It is a long-term investment in improving access to high quality healthcare for patients across Tallahassee. Family medicine physician John Streacker, MD serves as the Medical Director of the Urgent Care Center on TMH’s main campus and will now serve as the Medical Director for both locations.
“It has been a privilege to play a part in TMH’s extraordinary growth. The opening of this new Urgent Care Center allows us to support the local community by offering another option for patients seeking urgent care in Southeast Tallahassee,” shared Dr. Streacker. “Our goal is to always provide patients with the best healthcare possible, and to ensure they are easily connected to the finest physicians the Big Bend region has to offer.”
The Southwood location will be open Monday through Thursday from 9 am to 8 pm, and Friday through Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm. Urgent care remains the best treatment option for individuals who need medical attention after normal business hours or cannot wait for a doctor’s appointment. Both Urgent Care Centers are equipped to serve patients experiencing sprains or strains, skin rashes or infection, fever or flu, muscle or stomach aches and earaches, as well as those who need minor stitches.
In light of the current surge of COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations, the ribbon cutting ceremony for the Urgent Care Center at Southwood will be rescheduled for a later date.
