In partnership with the County of Maui, Minit Med Urgent Care will open its site offices in Kahului, Kīhei and Lahaina on Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2020, for free COVID-19 testing.
The Lahaina and Kīhei sites will be open from 8 a.m. to noon, and the Kahului site will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
“Mahalo to Minit Med, which has administered more than 11,000 tests in providing this service to the public,” Mayor Michael Victorino said. “This is an opportunity for residents to confirm they do not have COVID-19 before the beginning of the New Year. Early detection helps curb the spread of the virus in our community as soon as possible.”
All participants must pre-register by visiting www.minitmed.com/pre-register-maui-covid-19. Participants are asked to come to the Minit Med sites at their designated time.
Minit Med locations and normal days of operation are:
- Central Maui: 348 Lehuakona St. (behind Maui Marketplace), Kahului; normally open every Wednesday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- South Maui: 1280 S. Kīhei Road, Kīhei; normally open every Tuesday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- West Maui: 305 Keawe St., Lahaina; normally open every Monday and Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Residents do not need to have insurance or meet any criteria to get tested for free. Participants must wear a face mask, and they are urged to come at their scheduled time. Results will be reported on the same day as testing. Minit Medical is administering the program sponsored by the County of Maui. If you have any problem pre-registering, please call (808) 667-6161 ext: 7, for help and more information.
NOTE: The free testing cannot be used for the State’s Pre-Travel Testing Program.
