As of Friday night, Tropical Storm Laura’s projected path was moving to the south and west – farther away from Tampa Bay.
But, our area could still feel some of the storms affects, and other parts of Florida remain very much in the crosshairs.
Governor DeSantis is asking President Trump to declare states of emergency for the following counties:

- Hendry
- Hernando
- Hillsborough
- Holmes
- Jackson
- Jefferson
- Lee
- Levy
- Manatee
- Miami-Dade
- Monroe
- Okaloosa
- Palm Beach
- Pasco
- Pinellas
- Santa Rosa
- Sarasota
- Taylor
- Wakulla
- Walton
- Washington
In addition to pre and post-impact assistance, the governor is also requesting additional funding to deal with the additional response complications posed by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
