Stamford seniors stay safe at an ice cream emergency

STAMFORD — About 150 seniors from the Stamford Senior Center fulfilled their summer cravings at the ice cream drive-thru at the Jewish Community Center in Stamford on Thursday.

The Ice Cream Emergency food truck catered the event, which saw a large crowd of folks passing through the JCC parking lot in a drive-thru fashion.

“Since we’ve been closed, we’ve been trying to create a Senior Center without walls,” said Senior Center Executive Director Christina Crain. “We want to keep our seniors engaged while keeping them safe.”

Next month, the Stamford Senior Center will host a taco truck drive-thru event.
